Applications are now open for the MCW Young Leaders Fellowship 2026 — a fully funded program in the United States available to young people from all around the world. This leadership opportunity welcomes individuals aged 18 to 26 who are eager to develop their leadership and management skills to tackle challenges in education, health, and economic security.
The fellowship promotes the idea of “Local Change Through Global Exchange.” It runs for one year, including a 10-day in-person session in New York, USA, in July 2026. No IELTS or TOEFL test scores are required. Applicants from undergraduate, master’s, or PhD programs in any field are welcome to apply.

Fellowship Structure
- Virtual Community Assessment (1 Month):
The program begins online with a community mapping and needs-assessment phase. Participants receive training and tools to analyse issues in their local communities. - In-Person Experience in the USA (10 Days):
Fellows will travel to the United States in July 2026 for workshops, discussions, and leadership sessions. Each participant will bring forward a community challenge they wish to address. - Virtual Project Implementation:
After returning home, participants will put their action plans into practice, implementing projects to make positive changes in their communities.
Financial Support
The fellowship covers major expenses, including:
- International airfare for global participants
- Domestic flights for U.S. participants
- Accommodation and meals (3 per day)
- Round-trip transportation from New York to Burlington, Vermont
- Local transport between JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark airports and program venues
Accommodation will be provided by New York University in New York and Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be 18–26 years old at the start of the program
- Be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Be eligible for a visa to travel to the USA
- Have identified a community issue in the field of education, health, or economic security
- Come from any academic discipline or background
